Snoring Mouthpiece

Snoring mouthpiece products are bombarding the market at the moment in an attempt to help people from snoring. There are various brand names and types of anti-snoring mouthpiece, however, they all have the same aim and that is to stop you from snoring.

One such product is 'The Sleep Coach's Anti Snoring Mouthpiece', more commonly known as Snorban. The device works by keeping your mouth in the proper position which stops the throat tissue from vibrating. This particular device is very easy to use, you just have to form fit to begin with and then wear it every time you go to sleep. It claims to stop you snoring by allowing you to breathe in the normal way.

Anti snoring mouthpiece devices are also known as anti snoring dental devices. The 'mandibular advancement splint' is one such device. It works by setting or pushing your jaw gently forward and raising the soft palate. This stops the throat tissues sagging and blocking the airway; over a period of time of using this device 'normal' breathing through the nose will return naturally.

Other variations of the anti-snoring mouthpiece work by preventing the tongue from going too far down the throat. The dental devices are custom made, however, there are certain brands that are made of a soft material which can be molded to any mouth shape.

Many of the anti-snoring mouthpieces are said to be very effective in stopping people snoring, but before you try any of these it is advisable to get the doctor to check that there is not a medical reason why you snore.

It may also be wise to try the readily available versions before you go to have a custom made one as these are considerably cheaper and will give you the opportunity to see whether you can actually get any sleep while wearing something in your mouth.

Many of the anti snoring mouthpieces on the market also claim to improve oxygenation to the body which can help to reduce daytime fatigue. Some also claim to teach children proper swallowing patterns, can assist athletes for endurance and prevent them from overstraining.
